Become a Staff Member or Volunteer

At Bayside UMC VBS Summer Camp, Staff Members and Volunteers are essential to our program. They are the building blocks of the summer camp and play an important role in helping the program run smoothly. We are looking for teachers, teacher assistants, floaters and volunteers to join our team for our VBS Summer Camp 2025 program from July 7th to August 22nd .

To be a Staff or Volunteer, you must be a warm, friendly, mature and responsible person who loves working with children. You must be able to work independently and as part of a team. You must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while supervising and ensuring students’ safety and well-being.

As a Volunteer at our VBS Summer Camp, you will be able to earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award, as well as the rewarding experience of working with children, seeing their smiles, helping them learn and grow, and impacting their life in meaningful ways.

The PVSA is an award dedicated to recognizing and honoring those whose service impacts communities positively, while inspiring others around them to also take action. Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time, energy and talents! We look forward to hearing from you!

    • United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder)

    • Must be at least five years old

    • Completes eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards)

    • Unpaid acts of volunteer service benefiting others

    • Service through National service programs that provide a stipend (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) may count towards the Lifetime Achievement Award, but not for the annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards

    • Working as a community meal volunteer

    • Helping with a clothing or food drive

    • Volunteering on mission trips

    • Participating in church-sponsored community projects, i.e. Breakfast with Santa, Egg Hunt

    • Assisting with Vacation Bible School Program

    • Providing transportation for programs or services

    • Donating funds

    • Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)

    • Religious instruction

    • Conducting worship service

    • Proselytizing

    • Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service

    • Serving only family members

Hours Required to Earn Awards in Each Age Group
